Walmart Awards $4.2 million for Minority Student Success Awards

Q:  I am a first-generation college student who is looking for scholarships to attend college. My family cannot afford to pay for college. Are there scholarships available and how do I find these funding sources?

A: Congratulations on being the first in your family to attend college.  ExploreHealthCareers provides a national database of portable funding opportunities for future health profession college students.  Learn more at Find Funding Opportunities. Walmart has created a “Minority Student Success Award” to help first-generation college students afford the cost of a college education.  The Institute for Higher Education Policy awarded Valencia Community College $100,000 for first-generation college students.
