Who Should I Contact about Student Loan Forgiveness Programs?

Loan forgiveness programs can be an important part of a borrower's loan repayment strategy, and there are a number of resources where you can get information about these programs:

First, check out http://www.finaid.org/loans/forgiveness.phtml, and note that this site (www.FINAID.org) has a lot of information about financial aid you may find helpful.

Second, you can get information directly from the federal government at www.studentaid.ed.gov, just look in the loan forgiveness section and/or in the section on repaying student loans.

Third, check out www.IBRinfo.org, and click on the FAQs.  This site shows how using a repayment plan for your student loans that is tied to your income can help you qualify for loan forgiveness.

Finally, always check with your school's Financial Aid Office, as they may have some loan forgiveness programs that are specific to their school, and they are a great source of help.
