Because of their ability to see "the big picture," public health professionals play a key role in emergency preparedness and response. This may be why public health has become such a growing field in recent years. The need for public health professionals has never been greater.
But what is public health, anyway? To help people understand what it is and how important public health is in emergency response, the University of Minnesota recently created an interactive online game called "Outbreak at Watersedge."
This free interactive game will introduce you to the world of public health, as you help track down the source of a mysterious illness that has struck the small community of Watersedge - and stop the outbreak before more residents get sick.
