In this section, we spotlight specific institutions for their commitment to promoting diversity in the health professions.

These schools have shown vision, leadership, and creativity in implementing what administrators in the health education field refer to as "best practice" models.

In other words, these schools have found innovative ways to rise above recent affirmative action rulings. They are continuing to provide opportunities for students from under-represented populations to pursue a health professions education, often despite daunting personal and economic challenges.
