Established in July 2003, the Catskill Hudson Area Health Education Center (Catskill Hudson AHEC) serves the 11-county region of Lower Hudson New York. Catskill Hudson AHEC is devoted to improving the quality, geographic distribution and retention of health career professionals and to stimulate interest in health professions careers through education programs in its regional service area. This territory includes Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Otsego, Putnam, Rockland, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster counties. The Catskill Hudson AHEC 11-county region is home to 29 hospitals, serving a total regional population of over 1.5 million people.
• Eligible applicants include, but are not limited to, any health or community-based agency or organization, secondary school, academic institution, hospital, health center, rural health network, health department or related organization.
• The applicant must be a not-for-profit, private or governmental agency and able to document this status.
• Applicants must serve residents of one or more of the 11-county CHAHEC area in New York State, including Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Otsego, Putnam, Rockland, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster counties. Multi-county proposals are encouraged.
Who is not eligible to apply?
Non-eligible applicants include individuals and for-profit agencies and organizations. Any past recipients of mini-grants awards determined to be non-compliant in their project development, implementation, reporting, Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and/or approved use of funds are no longer eligible for funding.
