Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (C-STEP )

John Jay College
New York, NY.
Type Academic Enrichment, Academic Year Program, Basic Science Research, Test Preparation

Description

CSTEP at John Jay is managed through our award-winning Program for Research Initiatives in Math and Science (PRISM), which serves students from freshman year all the way until graduation. Two primary goals of the program are to help students achieve and maintain high grades throughout their undergraduate career (our PRISM Junior Scholars Program) and to help students gain research experience to improve their professional portfolios for entry into Graduate and Professional schools (PRISM Undergraduate Research Program). C-STEP has helped our program provide over 700 hours of tutoring to students, approximately 125 hours of student support via academic and pre-professional advisement, and over 20 hours of programmatic activities, including our Undergraduate Research Symposium and a Professional Communication and Etiquette workshop led by an outside contractor. Our Undergraduate Researchers reported over 10,000 hours of research activities through internships with our faculty mentors.
