Funded by the New York State Education Department, the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) was created to increase the number of historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged students who pursue majors and careers in mathematics, science, technology, and health-related fields.
CSTEP at LaGuardia Community College uses the classroom as a lab for exploration and innovation, providing free tutoring, counseling, a biochemistry recitation hour, career development services, preparation for licensing exams, targeted academic advisement, student trips and more:
- At the CSTEP Center, located in E342, you can browse through career materials, work with an onsite tutor, view specialized videos, meet with a mentor, prepare for exams and attend workshops.
- Science Express is an intensive preparation for science courses held during the intersession before or after Spring I. You will learn from a special instructor, and conduct laboratory experiences that introduce you to the scientific method.
- Participation in CSTEP is free. Costs are covered by the New York State Education Department & LaGuardia Community College.
