To prepare students from underrepresented groups (African-American, Native American, Hispanic American and Pacific Islanders) for biomedical careers by providing academic support and a stimulating research experience. The goal of the MARC program is to prepare each participant for entrance into a competitive graduate program and successful completion of a Ph.D. in the biomedical or physical sciences, $11,172/year and 60% of tuition for the Junior and Senior years, Summer Research Internship at SFSU after Sophomore year, Summer Research at a major research institution after Junior year, Travel to a major scientific meeting to share research results.


All MARC students are expected to maintain a B (3.0) grade point average. Student performance will be evaluated each semester and those students making appropriate progress will be continued. For JUNIORS/SENIORS in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Math, Computer Science and Engineering Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents
