Thank you for your interest in the Michigan State Loan Repayment Program (MSLRP). MSLRP helps employers recruit and retain primary medical, dental, and mental healthcare providers by providing loan repayment to those entering into MSLRP service obligations. MSLRP service obligations require participants to provide full-time primary healthcare services in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) at not-for-profit health clinics for two years. MSLRP loan repayment agreements are funded by a federal/state/local partnership. Federal funds are awarded by the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). State funds are appropriated by the Michigan Legislature, and local funds come from employer contributions toward their employees' loan repayment agreements.
The information presented on this website is designed to be read in the same order as the navigational headings listed below. This material will give you an understanding of MSLRP sufficient to determine whether you are eligible, how to apply, and the amount of MSLRP payment you may receive if awarded an agreement.
