This scholarship is in tribute to Polly Barey RN, MSN who retired as executive director of CNA after 10 years of exceptional leadership. Ms Barey's career has been strong in the public health nursing arena with a strong focus on community programs. Polly is very proactive politically with the health of the public her main concern. The scholarship will assist other nurses with leadership potential."
Criteria: An RN who is advancing his/her professional degree level
Residents of Connecticut, entering or studying in a National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) accredited School of Nursing (Associate, Baccalaureate or Master Degree) or a program leading to a Doctorate in Nursing, who wish financial assistance for their education and demonstrate scholastic ability and professional promise are eligible to apply.
Excluded are relatives of and Trustees of the Connecticut Nurses' Foundation, Inc.
1) Completion of the application form
2) Submission of an official academic transcript from current institution and
3) Completion of reference form by professor or teacher.
All data must be submitted to the Connecticut Nurses' Foundation Scholarship Committee prior to June 15 the year of application.

Amount of Scholarship:
The amount of the scholarship will be based on the qualifications of the applicant and the funds available.
Announcement of Award:
Applicants will be notified by August 30 of the committee's decision on Scholarship Awards.
