Academic requirements
This occupation requires a bachelor's degree or higher in music therapy from a program approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA). Board certification (MT-BC) is obtained through the Certification Board for Music Therapists after completing required clinical training and passing a national examination. Some positions may prefer a master's degree.
