Academic requirements
This occupation requires a medical degree (MD or DO) followed by completion of a 3–4 year emergency medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME. State medical licensure and board certification in emergency medicine through the American Board of Emergency Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine are required.
