Advances in dental research including genetic engineering, the discovery of links between oral and systemic diseases, the development of salivary diagnostics and the continued development of new materials and techniques make dentistry an exciting, challenging and rewarding profession. Today's dentists are highly sophisticated health professionals who provide a wide range of oral health care that contributes to the general health and quality of their patients' lives.

Dentists are instrumental in the early detection of oral cancer and systemic conditions that manifest in the mouth. They also can serve as first responders in the event of a large-scale health emergency. Today's dentists are at the forefront of a range of of new developments in dental implants, computer generated imaging, and cosmetic and aesthetic procedures.

The American Dental Education Association Launches GoDental^SM

On September 14, 2011, the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), Division of Educational Pathways launched GoDental^SM, a new career building and social networking site. GoDental^SM is the official web resource for up-to-date information for people on the pathway to dental education and exciting oral health careers.  It offers an interactive experience for networking, community development, and engagement. 

GoDental^SM is a dynamic web tool that guides students through the amazing experience of becoming a dentist, and provides information directly from dental professionals. While other websites use information from third parties and volunteers, GoDental^SM is the “go-to” source.

GoDental^SM is sponsored by the American Dental Education Association (ADEA).  It was designed to promote collaboration, community and connection between pre-health and current oral health professionals. Here’s your chance to become involved:
